About Lobo

Color: Black & White
Eye Color: Blue
Birthday: 01/31/21
Weight: 55 lbs
Large Dog Friendly: Yes
Small Dog Friendly: Unknown
Cat Friendly: No
Crate Trained: Yes, in crate overnight and while not home. Doesn't whine, bark or scratch.
Housebroken: Yes, is fairly regular, sits and barks by the door or rings the bell on the door.
Energy Level: He does fine if we run, take short or long walks, or go hiking. He's also content hanging around the house and being mellow. If he gets bored he'll bring you a toy or come talk to you.
Reaction to New People: Curious, gives a good sniff, may try to jump up for a closer look but not always.
Kid Friendly: Yes, he's slightly reactive at barriers like a baby gate or in his bed but moreso only if he's surprised. We have four kids 7-15 and they all have friends over and do fine after being educated about large dogs if they don't have experience.
Training: Learns quick. Listens well inside, needs more training outside with distractions. Knows sit, shake, down (lay down), leave it/drop, roll over and plays fetch and tug of war with toys inside.
Grooming Needs: Typical Husky/dog
Fence: Respects baby gates, doesn't know he could jump a 4' fence so does respect them as well.
Solo or Siblings: Will do fine with other dogs. He did great with Charlie (another foster Husky for around 3 months) but sometimes they had different ideas about when to play or rest. Pretty normal stuff. He's been watched by other fosters with dogs who provided good feedback.
From the Foster: Lobo is great, he learns really quick and has made huge strides in all areas and loves to please so he'll work hard at anything. He has some things to work on, mainly pulling on walks (much better with a pinch collar), excited by animals, and other dogs but his mannerisms express he wants to go play. He responds to new training really fast within 2-3 days of working consistently on something. He'd be great for sports. In cool weather he pulls on runs for up to 1.5 miles and then jogged next to me for another 1.5+ miles for 3+ total. I believe he can go further with continued workouts. He can be silly and likes to play including some tug of war, fetch in the house, light wrestling. He's very sweet loves to lay with the kids and be pet. He counter-surfs and is opportunistic if food is left out. He doesn't dig into trash or the pantry stuff though. He's been protective of long-lasting snacks like a raw bone or something in a Kong but has gotten less reactive with these things over time.
